Wokeface Day 2020

Posted by Woke Face on

If you're using the Wokeface 2020 calendar at home you may have noticed that April 3 is self-proclaimed "Wokeface Day".

Wokeface Day 2020

I chose this day because it's the anniversary of the first Wokeface street art ever existing in public. I've celebrated it various ways throughout the years. This year my plan was to do a "sticker meetup" which is something the Street Art community here in Portland, Oregon does pretty regularly. We simply meetup and trade stickers, draw new stickers or trade sketchbooks to make our marks. It's a casual friendly good time.

I had a feeling in my gut that 2020 was going to be a big year for the world but definitely could not have foreseen that we would be actually forbidden to meet up due to social distancing measures aimed at halting the spread of the very contagious COVID-19 virus.

New Plan for Wokeface Day 2020

I am inviting you to make your own Wokeface-inspired design that will possibly be included on a Sticker Sheet.

I will sell the sticker sheets on my site. 100% of the proceeds will go toward a cause that directly support the health and well being of those on the "front lines" of this pandemic who are experiencing a shortage of protective equipment. I am open to specific suggestions of individuals or organizations making masks or other protective equipment that are in need of funds.

ART SUBMISSION RULES:

1. Anyone is invited to participate.
2. Design must be Wokeface inspired and may not include any elements deemed hateful. No color or size restrictions.
3. You can submit up to 3 unique designs.
4. Designs must be received by April 10, 2020.

I will repost all the submissions on my instagram feed.

Chances of your design being included in the sticker sheet depends on the number of entries received - I will select as many as I am able to fit and apologize in advance if they cannot all be included. If your design is chosen for the sticker sheet you will be credited on it and I will mail you a free sticker sheet.
